1. Harry/Henry Brigden born 1906

Harry used to work on yachts as a steward.  He love the daughter of the owner, who was very wealthy,, Couldn’t marry Mildred as he couldn’t support her as her rich father would expect.  When Gwen was born he asked Flora to name her Mildred  (but she’s never liked the name so is called Gwen, her 2nd name)
Harry was in Merchant Navy during the war & was torpedoed but survived.

 He died & buried at sea, Bill would have flown his body back but they had no knowledge he’d died 

 

2. Floss/Florence Brigden born 1907

Married, as Annie F Brigden , Herbert Middleton Romford Dec 1929 .

SHE WAS KNOWN AS FLOSS FOR YEARS  THEN SHE WANTED TO BE CALLED ANNE, I GUESS SHE WAS NAMED AFTER HER GRANDMOTHER 

They had Keith, (known asTony) in 1934, Goodmayes Essex. Tragically killed in 1941, playing on his bike outside the fish shop, fell under a bus on the road, killed, aged 7, in view of Bert. Also Lois born 1936

 Floss & Bert used to drive up to Stoke from Barking to see the family.

4. John Brigden born 1910

John had TB and had to go to Switzerland for treatment.  He died , aged 48, Romford Mar 1958

Gwen very close to dad, he looked after her and took her to school, especially when Peggy was in hospital for 2 weeks.

 family were very friendly with Tilleys.  Bill worked for them in a pub in London. He lived with them for a while.
